”A warm welcome and a nice atmosphere in Lamora. We noticed that tables around us were getting baskets of bread but we only got some along with soup that was ordered as a starter. The soup and steamed mussels to start were really tasty and there was a good wait to recieve the main course. We had the steak which was nicely done and the seafood linguine but the waiter did not bring any pepper or parmesan and I had to wait a while to get the attention of the only waitress that was attending the tables. The desserts were fantastic and we left full. I feel if the service had been a bit quicker they would get in more customers as I saw lots of people being turned away. The wine was also a bit on the pricey side but the food was lovely.“

”I rarely eat at Italian restaraunts, as it is so easy to cook at home, but having eaten at Lamora, I will definitely be back. We booked a 3 course pre-theatre for 10.95 a head and considering the quality of the food, I can't remember having better value for money. The service was excellent and we were given adequate time to digest the food between courses. The surroundings were comfortable, bright and very clean. If I was pushed to make a criticism, I would have preferred some authentic Italian background music, but for food, service and value for money, you will be hard pushed to find better.“

”This is a very nice little Italian restaurant not far from Kelvin Way on Argyle St. It's not been open long but the food is excellent, there's a decent selection of vegetarian food and the staff are friendly and fairly attentive (although not overly so). The pre-theatre menu is particularly good value offering three courses for £11.“

”What brilliant value, service was fantastic, food delicious. £10.95 for a 3 course pre-theatre with plenty of choice. We asked for the mussels starter to be made differently - no problem. Carbonara was as good as I've had, my son asked for a seafood type pizza and I think he expected maybe anchovies and tuna. Imagine his surprise when a gorgeous pizza brimming with fresh scallops, squid, king prawns and mussels arrived. Finally, the Tiramisu is better than I've had anywhere outside Italy. Everyone who likes real Italian food should try this place. We will certainly be back.“

Although some reviews have questioned the casual nature of the surroundings and tablecloths, what is beyond debate is the sheer excellence of the food, service and value for money. There are plenty of mouth watering choices on the menu including an ample selection of vegetarian options. We chose the early evening menu which at £10.95 for 3 courses was a bargain. I’m sure we’ll return very soon.“
